Raised in San Diego, Marco is so grateful to be joining The Bishop's School as a Grade 6 Math/ Science Teacher. Before joining Bishop's, Marco worked as a Math/ Science teacher at High Tech Middle Chula Vista. He has served diverse student populations and heterogeneous classrooms all across San Diego County ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 8. His previous experiences inform his passion for equitable, meaningful, and student-centered education. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. Recently, he earned a Master of Education degree in Teaching and Learning from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education.
Additionally, Marco serves as a Grade 3 and 4 Assistant Teacher with Horizons at Francis Parker, a year round program with a six week summer intensive session focused on serving children from routinely under-resourced communities. In teacher professional development, he is currently a Teacher Leader for UC San Diego's Math Project and has served as a Project-Based Learning Facilitator for Deeper Learning China and High Tech High. Marco is a former competitive a cappella performer and had the privilege of singing at Carnegie Hall. Music and performance are essential parts of his life. He also enjoys exercising, serving at his church, watching live theatre/ movies, spending time with his family, and traveling the world. EDUCATION
